Topsail Island
There’s plenty of outdoor activities on Topsail Island. Beach strolls, pickleball courts, fishing, surfing, shark teeth hunting, dolphin watching, and so much more! Herring’s Outdoor Sports is a short walk from Coral Reef and provides rentals for lots of outdoor activities including surfing, paddle boarding, boogie boarding, biking, and kayaking.
Soundside Park
Soundside Park is a fun stop with the following amenities: an amphitheater, boardwalk and fishing pier, playground, picnic shelters, a public boat ramp, and boasts public parking and restrooms. A great place to come spend the afternoon during your stay!
Shaka Taco
Shaka Taco, centered in the heart of Surf City, NC, prides itself in one main staple – freshness. They start with NC produce and proteins, hand cut them everyday, then combine the flavors, spices and tastes we believe constructs a tasty taco. The patio has a casual, coastal feel where guests can hang with their dog or some friends, sip a cold foamer and enjoy their meal.

A favorite among us and our guests alike, the Salty Turtle Brewery is a short drive from Coral Reef and always a fun time. Right behind Salty Turtle are fun shops and places to eat.
Surf City Pier
Whether you’re going for a stroll before eating at one of the nearby restaurants, or spending a day out fishing, the Surf City Pier is a great way to pass some time by the waves. It’s just under a mile walk from Coral Reef, and we have a house pass available for your use to avoid paying any additional fees.
